Besides tourism is today, the farming, especially olive production, the most important source of income for the island. Olive oil is the main product of the agriculture and is mostly exported. There are olive trees everywhere, some of them are 700 years old! Most of the Corfiots who work in tourism in the summer, harvest the olives during the winter. The olives of Corfu are not so much as a table olives, but primarily give excellent olive oil.
